The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) will provide new ballot boxes for the continuation of the Special Voting exercise on Sunday, December 4.
As a result, political parties will also provide new seals for the additional boxes.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday, December 1 after the exercise – originally scheduled for that day – was fraught with missing names.
The Special Voting exercise is meant for security agents, electoral officers and media personnel who will work on the election day.
But there were widespread complaints of missing names of officers and journalists from the registers.

An emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) was convened at the end of the exercise and a consensus was reached for the exercise to be held on Sunday for those who couldn’t vote.
Further to providing new boxes, political party representatives would be allowed access to inspect the ballot boxes in the police armory during the period between Friday, December 2 and Wednesday, December 7.
