President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has supported the St. Edward Catholic Church in Jukwa in the Central Region, with an amount of GH¢60,000.
Dr. Nduom, who was the Chairman of the church’s centenary celebration, which was observed on Sunday, November 13, 2016, said the donation was his staff’s corporate social responsibility to the church.
He donated GH¢10,000 towards a fund-raising ceremony, and pledged an additional GH¢50,000 which will be given to the Church on his birthday, February 15, 2017.
Dr. Nduom in an address at the ceremony, thanked God for His protection and the victories he has given him.
“God’s grace is protecting this country. The sermon touched on jobs and I am glad I did not miss it. I have faith in doing business that’s why I am interested in creating jobs,” he said.
He announced to the church that the Nduom University situated at Ayensuado in the region, will open in December and begin admissions in January 2016.
Dr. Nduom thanked the Church and its members for their fervent prayers for him and his family. In his sermon, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Cape Coast, Most. Rev. Matthias Kwabena Nketiah, urged the members to pursue hardwork and diligence.
He entreated them to desist from the usual poor Ghanaian attitude towards work if they want to receive financial blessings from God.
Chief of Assin Kushia, Ehunabobrim Nana Pra Agyensem IV, was the special guest of honour.
The St. Edward Catholic Church, which was established in 1916, is currently putting up a state of the art parish in Jukwa.
