The founder of the National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has argued it is not impossible for the party to win the 2016 presidential elections.
According to her, the change made in the Indian election recently could happen in Ghana.
Addressing party members in the Eastern regional capital Koforidua, Saturday, at a swearing in ceremony for 15 appointed regional functional executive members, Mrs Rawlings said the ideals on which the party was founded remain intact and they are working at the grassroots level to increase their numbers.
Speaking in an interview later with the media, the former leader of the 31st December Women’s Movement said an NDP government will ensure transparency and justice.
“I believe that when we started the NDP it was with the conviction that we can improve what other parties were doing,” the leader of the NDC breakaway party said.
“We believe certain situations happening in Ghana needed to be changed… bringing back the honesty in Ghanaians, probity and accountability… because you can’t talk about peace when you don’t have normal justice,” she added.
