Yaw Adomako Baafi, a deputy communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has anticipated that peace will not reign in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He observed that the only way the acrimony will cease is for the leadership of the party to publicly render an apology to Ghanaians for the havoc it wrecked on the Ghanaian economy.
The NPP communicator said the party while in power forgot the country and encouraged illegal mining activities polluting various water bodies in the country.
“What is happening in the NDC is heaven inflicted. It is the hand work of God you are seeing the NDC at the crossroads with attacks and counter attacks. I repeat NDC apologize to Ghanaians for the bad leadership they will continue to fight amongst themselves and it may even become bloody”, he indicated.
NDC executives and some leading members since last week have been trading accusations and counter accusations as to who played what role leading to the defeat of the party at the polls.
Whereas foot soldiers are pointing fingers at the National Organiser who was the campaign coordinator for being instrumental for the party’s defeat because he is alleged to have diverted logistics and cash he claims he is innocent.
Former National Organiser of the party Yaw Boateng Gyan is however of the conviction that inexperience on the part of the new crop executives and the campaign team propelled the party to defeat.
on a wide range of issues affecting the NDC, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan said “the NDC was much more divided than the NPP but we pretended as if all was well and decided to talk about the NPP’s troubles.”
“People who dared to talk publicly about the party’s challenges were vilified and sidelined, how were we going to hear diverging opinions internally?” he asked.
“If we had paid attention to what people, our own party people, were saying, I am telling you the NDC wouldn’t have been in opposition by now,” he observed.
“The other issue has to do with the way and manner our people were talking to the electorate…very arrogant and disrespectful, how would we have appealed to the voters?” Mr. Boateng Gyan added.
