Former President John Dramani Mahama has rallied support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the wake of agitations within the party.
The opposition party is on a fact-finding mission over the cause of the party’s loss in the December 7, 2017 elections.
An elections review committee chaired by Former Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission Dr Kwesi Botchwey is leading a team to collate reasons for the first round defeat of the party.
But there was trouble in the Eastern Region as youth of the party blocked the committee from meeting party officials.
This may have informed a tweet from the former leader of NDC on Friday. The NDC will bounce back!! Cause of our loss is multifaceted. We need calm nerves & hard work to strengthen the base of party. #JMLegacy. — John DramaniMahama(@JDMahama) March 17, 2017 He called for “calm nerves” and “hardwork to strengthen the base of [the] party”.
The committee has since been in the Western Region and is expected to report to the National Executives Committee after completion of work before the party goes to congress next year.
