ADENTAN Municipal Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Volta Caucus, Mr Emmanuel Ankude has called on Ghanaians especially those from the Volta origin to vote massively for the standard bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) come December. 7 polls.
However, he has also admonished people of Volta region who are living outside the region to ignore every intimidating tactic being deployed by opposition parties and go all out to vote massively for great NDC come December. 7.
The Adentan Municipal Chairman for the NDC Volta Caucus, made this call when addressing members of the group at their inaugural ceremony held at Adenta in the Greater Accra region over the weekend.
According to Mr Ankude a lot of Voltaraians whom are living in other regions have been at the mercy of their political opponents who have constantly tagged them as NDC especially during an electioneering year.
“Go out in your numbers and vote for President Mahama and all the NDC parliamentary candidates in the upcoming general elections, because even if you vote for them they will still say you didn’t vote for them so vote for the party they have associate us with” the Adentan Municipal Chairman for NDC Volta Caucus cautioned.
“We have witnessed in some instances where landlords threatened our brothers and sisters with by-force ejection from their apartments if they cast their votes for NDC whilst others are treated with disdain before, during and after general elections” he opined.
“Please I urge you to take fear out of your way and go all out to campaign, sell the numerous monumental projects the NDC led by President John Dramani Mahama has spring across the entire country for the betterment of every Ghanaian”
He therefore, assured them that the Caucus has been established specifically to protect, promote as well as to project the image of the association and its members. Saying with the backing of the entire memberships of the Caucus nationwide, no one can intimidate anyone of us again.
“The national executives in-collaboration with regional and municipal and district executives will always work to ensure members safety before, during and after elections” Mr Ankude reiterated.
On her part, the Greater Accra Regional Chairperson, Madam Lydia Nutakor, advised members to stand united at all time, since that is the only assurance that will keep the bond and brotherliness forever.
“Let us eschew any divisive tendencies that has the potential to destroy the fortunes of the association” Mad. Nutakor warned.
She explained that greed and selfishness on the part of both members and executives had turned to bring disunity among members which eventually destroy formidably groups and associations such as theirs and therefore, appealed to them guide against such behavior.
Some members of NDC, Volta Caucus who spoke with Today, were of the opinion that their beloved party will win one touch come December. 7, 2016.
This they claimed was due to some unprecedented developmental projects that the John Mahama led NDC government has undertaken in country especially in the Volta region.
“Talk of educational, health, and road infrastructural and one will noticed that the NDC has done remarkably well for the region and for this we will forever, remain grateful to them” they added.
