NDC Threatening Voters With Death – Amoako Baah

A political science lecture and former head of the political science department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Richard Amoako has alleged that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is threatening voters in the Upper West region with death if they fail to vote for the party.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Rainbow Radio’s Kwame Tutu, Dr. Richard Amoako Baah said, the NDC is intimidating voters to vote for them because it obvious that they are losing the general elections due to their abysmal performance.

The controversial lecturer noted that, opinion polls available indicate that the ruling government is bound to lose.

However, they [NDC] will use and are using intimidation and threatening people to vote for them. Dr. Amoako Baah said, if the elections should be organized in a credible, and transparent manner, the NDC will lose hands down over their incompetence.

According to polls conducted, the NPP is likely to win the 2016 presidential election but we have about one month to the election and anything can change. There are factors that may influence the outcome of this election.

It is very precarious to say that NPP will win because the factors that may affect this year’s election may include cheating, vote buying and intimidation. As I speak to you, there are some voters in the Upper West region who have been threatened by the NDC with death if they fail to vote for them.

I received a call from a resident from the region that some members of the NDC have started threatening them with death should they fail to vote for them. They have threatened them with guns, cutlasses and matches. This is what is going on. People are being intimidated.

These are some of the issues that makes it difficult for the NPP to win the polls as predicted by some political commentators.
