A stalwart in the NDC, Enoch Teye Mensah has urged the party to apologise to former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
Then man who together with two others were once described as “Three Wise Men” by the party gave the advice in an interview with Winston Amoah, host of 3FM’s morning show – Sunrise.
Responding to claims that the NDC party failed to co-opt its senior members to play frontline roles in its 2016 campaign, the veteran politician criticised how the Rawlingses, and the exclusion of party stalwarts like Obed Asamoah, Tsatsu Tsikata and Dan Abodakpi were treated.
“The story must be told, people cherish what President Rawlings [did], especially the former first lady; and we should go and beg the former first lady. It was messy, we should go and beg the former first lady to come back,” he counselled.
Mr. Mensah’s call comes at a time that the NDC party is inquiring into reasons for its abysmal performance in the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The politician-turned-evangelist added that, he was also hurt by some NDC communicators and party faithfuls who showed a knack for disrespecting the elderly, and undermining their contributions to the party.
He heaped praises on the former first couple Mr. Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings for overlooking provocations emanating from a party Mr. Rawlings founded.
