A livid National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Yunyoo in the Northern region says government appointees in the erstwhile Mahama administration are partly to blame for their gargantuan defeat in the 2016 general elections.
Hon. Joseph Naabu Bipoba alleged that ministers and other government appointees were busily “looting” from the state instead of campaigning to retain former President John Mahama in power.
He disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday while discussing the chances of Mr. Mahama in the NDC’s upcoming presidential primaries.
The Yunyoo MP stated unequivocally that, former President Mahama lack the competence to lead the NDC to victory.
He said the former President is also to blame NDC’s defeat in the 2016 general elections because he chose to listen to his appointees he only told him lies rather than the grassroots.
Hon. Naabu disclosed that majority of the minister lost their parliamentary seats because they were “looting from the state”.
The NDC MP explained that the motive behind this exposé is because he is angry the party lost the election due to negligence.
“I love NDC that is why I’m angry; now I’m in opposition and they [NPP] are going to reduce our Common Fund so I’m not happy” he bemoaned.
Hon. Naabu is skeptical the NDC will come back to power given the structures being put in place by the Akufo-Addo led administration.
