The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has launched an application (app) as one of its campaign tools to help disseminate the achievements and the works of the President John Dramani Mahama (JDM) to the public.
Speaking at the at the launch held at the National Press Centre in Accra, Mrs Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the spokesperson for the NDC said the App dubbed: “VoteJM2016, ‘’was deployed on both android and IOS platforms to help members and sympathisers, using smartphones to be reached with timely information on the campaign.
According to her, this is not only to disseminate information to the public but also to ‘’deepen participatory democracy and make room for deeper grassroots participation’.’
Another aim of the app is to bridge the information gap between the Presidency, Party and supporters, sympathisers and the public.
The features on the app provide detailed information on works of the President and also give the reader the opportunity to also share his or her views.
Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts said the app will also help to bring the activities of the president to the doorstep of the people.
“There are people who are in need of vital information and also may want to ask questions about the work of the President but don’t get the access to do so. This the opportunity for them since the app will help them keep abreast of the information they need,” she said.
The app has a multimedia feature, which comes in both photo and video gallery to support all the other functions with pictures and videos of JDM achievements.
The features of the app include; Presidential Profile, Vice Presidential Profile, the NDC Manifesto and the Green Book, latest news, Accounting to the People, election results, video and photo gallery.
