Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has tasked supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region to embark on house-to-house campaign to champion the developmental projects executed by the NDC administration.
This, he said, is to ensure that the party exceeds its target of polling one million votes in the Region and retain the government in power.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur was addressing hundreds of his party’s supporters and sympathizers who thronged the Jubilee Park in Kumasi for the launch of the Ashanti Region campaign team.
The Ashanti Region is a stronghold for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) but the NDC has managed to increase its number of votes in previous elections.
In this year’s election, the NDC has set a target of one million votes in the region to seal its one-touch victory agenda.
Mr. Amissah-Arthur wants party supporters to intensify their campaign to inform residents of the NDC government’s projects to improve lives.
“The NDC government has undoubtedly performed well in improving the lives of Ghanaians with massive developmental projects,” he told the thousands of supporters at the Jubilee Park.
“Some people are pretending of not being aware of such projects, so it is up to us as party members to move from house to house to showcase what the government has done to earn more votes in the December polls.”
The incumbent Member of Parliament for Asawase, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak said Ashanti region is gradually becoming a strong of the NDC because of the party’s increasing number of votes in previous polls.
He implored electorates to maintain the NDC government in power.
Various speakers including some movie actors pleaded with Ghanaians to vote for the NDC if they want to witness and benefit from more developmental projects.
The National Organizer of NDC, Kofi Adams, introduced all the 47 parliamentary candidates for the party in the Ashanti Region.
He also unveiled the Ashanti Regional NDC campaign team.
