The 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur and President John Dramani Mahama have a copyright in election rigging.
His comments come after Amissah-Arthur entreated supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be vigilant on Election Day to ensure the rules of engagement are respected.
According to him, the ruling party is poised for victory on December 7 following the launch of its 2016 manifesto and campaign while the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is yet to do same.
“We must police the polls, we must make sure we are vigilant and that everything is done according to the rules,” he said.
But addressing supporters of the NPP at Ablekuma during the second leg of his Greater Accra tour, Nana Akufo-Addo dismissed the call by Mr. Amissah-Arthur saying his comments is an indication that the NDC has already lost the December polls.
“What I know is that when it comes to rigging he [Amissah-Arthur] and his boss [Mahama] they have a copyright of the rigging phenomena in Ghana.
“If he has noticed that they are losing the elections, then he should keep quiet and stop saying things that would get us angry…this year Ghanaians have decided to vote for the NPP so we come and fix the country again,” Nana Addo told a teeming crowd at the Ablekuma West constituency.
