The much talked about drug trafficker, Nayele Ametafe aka Ruby Adu-Gyamfi was sentenced to 8yrs and 8months by the Uxbridge crown court today for attempting to traffic 12kgs of 78% pure cocaine to the UK.
Mr. James Kobby, lawyer for Nayele in his submission for leniency confirmed what many have speculated about, Nayele connection to the ruling elites in Ghana. He emphatically established that, the accused is not only connected to these ruling elites, but she is a companion to many of them.
He also alluded that the accused drug business emanated from her association with these elites.
Ghanaians would remember that in the wake of this scandal, a lot of pictures of Nayele and the President as well as with the President’s brother, Ibrahim popped out in various media platforms.
There have been suggestions to the effect that Nayele’s unimpeded passage through Ghana customs was facilitated by the executive branch of the Ghana government.
For now Miss Nayele Ametafe will spend at least 4yrs and 4month in a British jail but her ruling companions who aided her in this enterprise may never be made known even though Mr. James
Kobby, the accused lawyer claim to have the list of those companions.
