The Former Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Joseph Yamin has described as ‘very disappointing’ the organisation of the three-day tour by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the Ashanti region over the weekend.
He accused the regional executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of poorly organising the President’s first tour to the region after his 2016 elections victory.
Speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo with sit-in host Austine Wood, he claimed the Jackson’s Park was not filled to capacity as was expected.
Mr Yamin claimed majority of NPP sympathisers have regretted voting for the party adding that they are shy to publicly voice out their regrets hence the snub at the Jackson’s pack.
‘Three- day tour of the President, very disappointing. The NPP executives in the region failed to mobilise the party’s supporters to converge at the venue. The organisation was very poor, it was a very bad organisational work by the executives if you ask me.
The second reason is that majority of people in the region are disappointed in the government and didn’t see the need to waste their time to go to Jackson’s Park.
How can a whole NPP fail to mobilise people to the rally grounds when the Vice President Alhaji Dr Bawumia, Minister of Trade and Industry Alan Kyeremanteng and other party bigwigs were present, there is a question mark as to why the capacity of Jackson’s park was not filled,’ he said.
