NPP Presidential candidate Nana Addo will receive the Mother Teresa award for his exemplary conduct throughout his political ambition
The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo is set to add yet another feather to his cap. The NPP Flagbearer will on Sunday, November 20, 2016, receive the Mother Teresa Memorial International Award for Social Justice, at an event in Mumbai, India.

The award event themed “Combating Terror through Education and Peace” will also see the NPP Flagbearer deliver a keynote address. Nana Addo gained this honour through his exemplary conduct during past elections and other political affairs, in the country.
Explaining the decision to choose NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo for the reception of the Mother Teresa award, President of the Foundation, Dr. Abraham Mathai, said that;
“the manner in which you (Akufo-Addo) sacrificed your presidential ambitions by accepting to preserve peace in the West African nation of Ghana, at a time of high tension, thereby preventing civil war is truly remarkable.”
Dr Abraham also said that Nana Addo ought to be admired and appreciated for his statesman-like qualities which have truly distinguished him as the defender of democracy.

The Mumbai conference is aimed at containing violent extremism and radicalization among youths in India and across nations who are vulnerable to radical groups in the emergence of extremist outfits across the world.
The event will also posthumously honour Faaraz Ayaaz Hossain, the brave Bangladeshi youth who was killed in the Dhaka terror attack on July 1st 2016. He will be honured for his exemplary act of refusing to leave behind his friends who were from other countries. Also human rights activists, prominent members of civil society, diplomats and members of the Indian government, are all expected to be in attendance at the event.
