Nana Addo needs prayers to take on the tough task of taking Ghana to greater heights, the President-elect has said.
President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo has asked for prayers from Ghanaians to enable him take up the tough task ahead – that of leading the people of Ghana. During his recent interaction with the Muslim community, the President-elect asked them to put him in prayers as he gets ready to head the next administration.

Nana Akufo-Addo on Friday, December 16, joined thousands of Muslims in a thanksgiving service at the Central Mosque in Abossey Okai, Accra. The event was organised by the New Patriotic party (NPP) to thank Allah for a victorious election. Akufo-Addo, who addressed the congregation, assured that all the promises he made during the electioneering campaign period will be implemented.
Listing some of the promises; the President-elect said that the free Senior High School (SHS) education, the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the One-district-One-Factory promise, as well as the Zongo Development Fund, are all going to be done under his watch.

Nana Addo, therefore, called for the people’s prayers, asking the Almighty Allah to guide him through the tough task ahead. The President-elect also lauded the peaceful co-existence of Christians and Muslims, from generation to generation in the country and assured he will do everything possible to protect the peace and stability of the country.
Nana Addo, who contested in the December 7 presidential elections, came out victorious with 53.8 percent votes; beating his closest contender President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who polled 44.40 percent. President Mahama’s loss makes him the first incumbent to lose an election since Ghana returned to multi-party democracy in 1992.
