Finally, Nana Addo confirms Osei-Opare Chief of Staff with Asenso-Boakye and Abu Jinapor as her two deputies.
Speculations that Mrs Frema Osei-Opare will be appointed Chief of Staff and Samuel Abu Jinapor as one of her deputies has finally materialized. President-elect Nana Addo made this confirmation on Wednesday during an address at his residence in Nima. He also named Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor as the Chief of Staff Deputies.
The Chief of Staff is basically the aide-de-camp of the president and also coordinates the supporting staff at the presidency. Akufo-Addo’s appointment of Madam Osei-Opare makes her the first female Chief of Staff in Ghana’s history.
Mrs. Frema Osei-Opare is a development consultant and labour and employment expert. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Science from the University of Ghana, and a Master’s degree in Foods, from the University of Guelph, Canada.
She was a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Legon, from 1976-1982; Consultant for the United Nations in the ‘Women in Fisheries’ programme in countries such as Uganda, Ethiopia, Congo, Kenya and Namibia. She was also Deputy Minister for Manpower, Youth and Employment from 2005 to 2008, under the government of President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Madam Osei-Opare was once a two-term Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency and is currently a representative in the NPP Transition Team, serving as the head of Staff of the office of the President-elect, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Francis Asenso-Boakye is a development planning, project management, and policy specialist with over 15 years of wide-ranging professional experience in his field. He is a graduate of at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). His activities in the NPP can be traced back to his university days where he was among the founders of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON). He has been Nana Addo’s Political Assistant since 2008.

Before joining the staff and campaign of Nana Akufo-Addo, Francis Asenso-Boakye held positions at the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare (MESW), Global Media Alliance (GMA), Delta Acquisitions and Development, Delaware, USA, Michigan House of Representatives, Michigan, USA, Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB), and Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC).
Samuel Abu Jinapor was the Campaign Aide to Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2007 NPP Presidential Primaries and held this position for both the 2008 and 2012 General Elections.
Mr. Jinapor earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Ghana, in 2010. He was called to the Bar in 2012 and had his pupillage with a reputable commercial and corporate law firm, Messrs. Kulendi at Law from October 2012 to August 2013. In the course of his current studies, he has successfully undertaken academic sessions in International Commercial Arbitration, Labour law, Law and Society amongst many others.
He is expected to earn a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) from the University Of Ghana, around May, 2017.
He is 33 years old and married with a daughter.
