President Akufo Addo has appointed Joseph Anokye as the acting Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) “with immediate effect.”
The appointment of Mr. Anokye, a Telecoms Engineer with the National Space Agency (NASA) in the USA, was contained in a letter signed by the Communications Minister nominee, Ursula Owusu Ekufu on behalf of the president of the republic.
The letter dated 24th January, 2017 said in part “I wish to inform you of your appointment as the Acting Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA) with immediate effect.
“Kindly indicate your acceptance of this offer at the earliest opportunity. By copy of this letter, the Deputy Directors General of the NCA are requested to facilitate the handing over process and your early settlement in to your new position.
Mr. Anokye was the Technology Director of the New Patriotic Party in the just ended 2016 elections and with his technology team was able to collate and call the results for Nana Akufo Addo as winner of the polls.
He takes over from Mr. William Matthew Tevie who is the outgoing Director General of the NCA.
