Mubarak Slams Prez Staff Over Nana Addo’s Plagiarized Speech

Stakeholders have continued to hurl criticisms at Nana Addo’s plagiarized speech writers who has since caused the new President much embarrassment as a result of their carelessness.

President Nana Addo’s plagiarized speech gaffe continues to make rounds in the media, as scores of political stakeholders make attempts to wade into the controversial issue. Member of Parliament for Kumbungu in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak has doubted the competence of the President’s back room staff, considering the reported plagiarized paragraphs in his inaugural speech.

Nana Addo had received tons of commendations from political stakeholders for his recent appointments; until the embarrassing speech gaffe which caused an uproar in the country. Moments after Nana Addo’s inaugural speech on Saturday, it was discovered that excerpts of the speech were lifted from speeches by ex American presidents George W Bush and Bill Clinton.

Following the massive uproar on social media, the Director of Communications at the presidency, Eugene Arhin; subsequently apologized for the portions of President Nana Addo’s speech, which did not acknowledge the sources of some of the quotes.

Despite the apology, there have been calls for sanction on the speech writers responsible for the hoax. Mr. Mubarak, a first time MP, has frowned at the embarrassing blunder, as well as expressed doubts regarding the competence of Nana Addo’s appointed staff.

In an interview with Citi News, the MP expressed disappointment over the fact that the speech writers  had to take speeches from other leaders from across the world, when they had up to a month to prepare an original speech. Ras Mubarak explained that the hoax has in a way, killed the excitement of those who so much believed in Nana Addo’s recent appointees.

Nana Addo’s appointment of young persons as his staff had been lauded by many political stakeholders. Many commended Akufo Addo for appointing young and vibrant people whom they believe to have what it takes to take see to the efficiency of the current administration.

But Ras Mubarak says that the recent slip has shown that the appointees are not competent enough to take up the tough task.
