MTN, in collaboration Fidelity Bank, has launched the Fidelity Yello Save Account for mobile money subscribers to afford them the opportunity of getting huge interests on their savings.
With the growth of over 8 million MTN mobile money accounts, the two companies together developed a platform to reward account holders to grow their investments and also expand their businesses.
Speaking at the launch of the Fidelity Yello Save Account at the Kaneshie Central Market in Accra on Friday, February 3, 2017 Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr. Jim Baiden, noted that over the years, the bank has introduced very innovative products onto the Ghanaian market since 2014.
And key among these products, he indicated, was the award winning SMART ACCOUNT which had about 300,000 Smart Account Holders. He said in line with the bank’s focus as a private indigenous bank in Ghana, which provides services to many people as possible; they have joined MTN on the Yello Save Account product to provide the growing number of mobile money users, a savings product that they can open instantly and build their savings with.
“That is why we are proud to partner with MTN, the leading mobile money service provider… we have a winning product for everyone. After listening to customers, we have designed Yello Save Account in a special way by removing all paper works to ensure that anyone can open the savings account in just a few minutes from anywhere, and the best part is you enjoy 12% interest,” he said.
For his part, Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Ebenezer Asante, reiterated MTN’s commitment to ensuring a cashless society, and averred that the Yello Save Account was one means to achieve that and also make the lives of their customers better.
With the Fidelity Yello Save Account, subscribers and account holders would have to dial *170#, follow the instructions and select option 6.
The subscribers would be requested to develop their own 4-digit code number and then they are good to go. With the Yello Save Account, one can transfer money from his or her mobile money wallet into the Yello Save and vice-versa and build their Yello Save Account to be able to earn 12% interest.
