Henry Yeboah Yiadom-Boachie revealed that “the forces behind the galamsey are huge and dangerous and so those who are going to fight them should be prepared”.
“If go with empty hand asking them to stop, it will be a disaster,” the MP told Onua FM on Ghana Dadwene on Tuesday, April 4.
The MP, who claimed had done research in several mining communities across the country, revealed that “the politicians are involved, chiefs are involved, and some powers that be”.
According to the MP, as a social worker to these communities, he observed that women in these communities give births indiscriminately while men also spend money indiscriminately and when they are out of galamsey, they indulge in anti-social acts such as armed robbery and prostitution.
Mr. Yiadom-Boachie noted that “those involved in digging the holes are dying but those who are behind are enjoying and that is why we must support the president to clamp them down”.
