The mother of former first lady of Ghana under the PNDC/NDC era, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has passed on.
According to the spokesperson for former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams, Nana Konadu’s mother passed away on Thursday November 5, 2015 at about 13:00 GMT (1:00 PM local time) in Accra.
Kofi Adams who was speaking as a panelist on Asempa FM confirmed the passing and noted that more information would be given later.
Nana Konadu was first lady of Ghana for 19 years. She was a staunch member of the National Democratic Congress till she deferred to form her own party the NDP. Nana Konadu is the brain behind 31st December movement, a movement dedicated to women and children.
