The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) has met with management of Media General, a media conglomerate in Ghana, to strengthen their relationship and explore mutually beneficial opportunities.
The AAG team led by its President , Joel Nettey, was received by the Chief Executive of TV3 Network Limited, Jimi Matthews, and other management staff of Media General.
Mr Nettey said AAG has over the years enjoyed a cordial relationship with TV3, which is the flagship media firm of the Media General with Media General Radio (3FM 92.7 and Onua 95.1FM in Accra, Connect FM in Takoradi and Akoma FM in Kumasi), MG Digital (3news.com) and Adesa Productions Limited as the other firms.
Mr Nettey observed that there are advertisers who are not members of the AAG and these non-members are tarnishing the image of the profession.
He promised Media General AAG’s commitment to ensure that TV3 deals with accredited members.
The AAG president urged stakeholders to join them in the quest to get the Advertising Standard Authority Bill passed into law, which he said will ensure sanity in the industry.
The Group CEO of Media General, John Chiahemen, said the meeting came at an opportune time because Media General has broadened its tentacles, giving clients a broader platform to market their products.
The team used the occasion to inform management of Media General of the industry’s upcoming award event, the Gong Gong Awards.
