The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) will on Monday determine the fate of nurses whose in-actions played a role in the issue of the missing baby which stirred controversy in the hospital last week.
The family of Abigail Opoku were furious after the hospital authorities informed them their baby had died and been transferred to the mortuary without their consent.
But after the police and hospital authorities were brought in, it was found out that another mother whose baby had died mistakenly thumb printed on the death entry books of the aggrieved family.
The issue was amicably settled when the two families identified the remains of their babies and corrected the documents.
But the Acting Head of the Health Directorate at KATH Professor Sampson Antwi indicates that the act which brought back memories of the infamous ‘Suweiba Missing Baby Saga’ needs to be further interrogated for corrective measures to be taken.
He said the hospital will be meeting this morning to determine sanctions for nurses who oversaw the filling of the forms.
