A young man believed to be in his mid-thirties has committed suicide at Atwima Yabi in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of Ashanti Region.
The man whose name was given as Daniel Awuah was found hanging on a tree in his farm in the early hours of Sunday 6th November, 2016.
According to the Assembly member for the area who narrated the incident to Kapital News, the deceased had a history of mental illness; however they are not sure if it had any link to the dastardly act he committed.
Daniel Awuah who is a known member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in the area was seen at church on Saturday but on his return, he began to put up a strange behaviour.
His sister cooked and invited him to come and eat but he declined and went and cooked his own meal.
On Sunday he told his sister that he was going to farm moments later his sister who needed some food stuffs to prepare food to eat before going to church also followed Daniel to the farm.
Upon reaching the farm she had the shock of her life as she saw the lifeless body of his brother dangling loosely on a tree in the farm.
The shell shocked relative ran quickly to the town to inform the town folks of the incident which they in turn informed the Police of the area.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Toase Government Hospital morgue.
