Reports reveal that a man has been arrested at the Gerado Church polling station in the Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region for using a knife to disrupt the peace of the voting process at the unit. Citi News’ Pearl Akanya Ofori reported that the man threatened to attack some of the voters.
The man who is yet to be identified, claimed to be a cobbler in the neighbourhood after he was arrested by the police, but residents refuted his claim, saying he is an ex-convict.
Police officers who rounded him up succeeded in disarming and getting him handcuffed. No motive is yet known for the man’s actions, but he was said to be shouting: “I need blood, I need blood.”
He is currently being detained at the Kotobabi police station.
