Host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show, Paul Adom-Otchere has dismissed speculations that his recent interview with President John Dramani Mahama was contrived.
According to the Communications Consultant and Broadcast Journalist, there was no arrangement with the presidency to ask the President specific questions.
Adom-Otchere recently interviewed the President of the Republic of Ghana where Mr. Mahama described flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a divisive figure and not fit to lead Ghana.
Mr. Mahama also addressed several issues stating that Ghana would have excess power to supply other African countries in the next few years.
But following the interview, suggestions on Social Media slammed Adom-Otchere, claiming that the over one hour interview was stage-managed.
Clarifying the issue on Starr Chat Wednesday on Starr 103.5FM, Mr. Adom-Otchere stated that he only supplied the presidency with the areas he wanted to address in the interview.
“I gave them [presidency] the themes and the areas that I wanted to ask the President because I want the interview so I gave them the themes, and they came back for me to clarify some of the areas,” Mr. Adom-Otchere told host Bola Ray.
He added that feedback from the interview has been both positive and negative, but the interview was not stage-managed.
“I hope and believe that people did like the interview, I am hoping that we had done a good job, some of it [feedback] has been positive, some of it has been critical.”
