I’m President John Mahama has visited some survivors of Thursday’s gas explosion accident at Labadi in Accra to commiserate with them.
The victims, where were receiving medical attention at the 37 Military Hospital, according to the President, were “doing well”.
Some 6 persons have been confirmed dead with more than 40 injured and receiving treatment in various health facilities including the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, La General Hospital and the Police Hospital.
The President, accompanied by some government officials pledged government’s commitment to foot the medical bill of the injured persons.
In a post on Facebook, the President expressed his condolences to the families of those who had lost their lives in the accident while calling on Ghanaians to pray for the quick recovery of those who were currently on admission at the various hospitals receiving medical care.
At about 4pm on Thursday, a gas station exploded at Labadi in Accra adjacent the Accra International Conference Centre and the Labadi Cemetery. It took firefighters about 5 hours to douse the inferno.
