President John Dramani Mahama has gone through a successful verification process to ensure he can vote come the December 7 general elections.
Mahama, who is seeking re-election, travelled to his hometown Bole on Tuesday to confirm his name in the voters’ register. He later tweeted to encourage Ghanaians to participate in the exercise:

Meanwhile, Mahama’s main contender and the 2016 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has also been at the Rock of Ages polling station in Kyebi to verify his name in the voters’ register.
Addressing media personnel after the exercise, the NPP flagbearer expressed his satisfaction with the “simple” process, adding that “I have one vote in the bank for myself” in this year’s presidential election.
Nana Akufo-Addo urged NPP agents at the polling station to remain vigilant during the remainder of the 21-day exercise.
