President John Dramani Mahama says the processes leading up to the December 7 elections and thereafter will cement Ghana’s position as a beacon of democracy in Africa.

“I am happy to inform you, Mr President, that Ghana has begun work in earnest to implement the SDGs.
“We have put into place the necessary national structures that will ensure that the policies and measures taken in that regard fall in line with our 40-year development plan currently being formulated.”
President Mahama touted Ghana’s democracy as leading in Africa and announced to the Assembly that his country will go to the polls in December.
He expressed optimism that the elections will further consolidate Ghana’s disposition in that area, having held six successive elections in the past.
