The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has described as flawed and incomprehensible comments by the party’s immediate National Chairman that president Akufo-Addo won the 2016 elections due to his wealth of experience.
Dr. Kwabena Adjei speaking Wednesday on Starr Chat said the tenacity of Akufo-Addo and the fact that he is a septuagenarian will augur well for the country’s transformation.
“I’m happy,” he told host, Bola Ray adding “because he comes with a wealth of experience that will help and then a certain respectability from the elder people.”
According to him, one of the reasons why John Mahama lost the 2016 elections was because he surrounded himself with a lot of “inexperienced handlers.”
In his reaction Thursday, Mr. Adams who was the campaign coordinator for the Mahama campaign team in the 2016 elections gravely disagreed with Dr. Adjei saying if it was about experience, Mahama’s is unquestionable.
“Those who contested, there was one who was already doing the job and has done the lower level of the job as vice president and has been president….if it is about experience I don’t think that President Nana [Akufo-Addo] came into the position with more experience than [former] president Mahama,” he told on Morning Starr host Francis Abban.
