Three traders at Agbogbloshie have confirmed that, President John Mahama gave them GHC50 each during his campaign tour in the area last Thursday.
The president has come under fire after a video of him sharing money to some traders at Agbogbloshie went viral.
While some people accused the president of vote buying, some government officials, including the Chief of Staff argued that, the President was probably sharing leaflets and not money as the video suggested .
Atinka News visited Agbogbloshie on Friday, September 23, 2016 to ascertain the veracity of the alleged claims .
Rebecca Kamasah, an egg seller confirmed to Atinka News that indeed, the President gave her money.
According to her, the president called her and gave her GHC50 after some men, who were struggling to catch a glimpse of the President, pushed her, leading to the destruction of her wares.
Rahinatu Moro, an onion seller also confirmed that the president gave her GHC50 as compensation following the destruction of her wares during the struggle.
The accounts of the traders have exposed some government officials who claimed that the video may have been doctored to embarrass the president, who is currently in New York.
