Opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has protested a description made about him by arch-rival John Dramani Mahama, the leader of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President of the Republic of Ghana.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, the description of the president of those who criticize the country’s economy as lacking sight and unpatriotic cannot be taken lightly.
Recently, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) questioned the robustness of Ghana’s economy, saying it is in decline.
But in a sharp riposte, President Mahama said the economy is robust and those who see otherwise do not have any love for the country.
“Let me state clearly and without any equivocation that John Dramani Mahama cannot teach me any lessons in patriotism,” Nana Akufo-Addo stressed.
“My love for and believe in Ghana is total and has stood the test of time,” he added at the 2016 manifesto launch of the NPP at the Ghana International Trade Fair Center.
The 2008 and 2012 NPP Presidential Candidate said he is not only the only one but a large number of Ghanaians including one Awal Mohammed – who until recently a Deputy Communications Director of the NDC – see the economy as on the decline
The former Abuakwa Member of Parliament said Ghana has the potential of being great again and that’s the believe for which he wants to lead the country.
