The Ga-Adangbe community are accusing President John Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of unfair treatment and unlawful acquisition of their lands.
According to the Adangbes, the president unlawfully snatched their lands for the benefit of family and friends who in turn have put up buildings on these lands while the indigenes wallow in misery.
“Under John Mahama, vast lands belonging to the Ga Adangbe community, have been given away to his family and friends including the Aviation lands, GIMPA military lands, the state lands acquired for purposes which are no longer necessary to the detriment of the local people.”
The declaration which was read by the Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nii Ayikoi Otoo, further stated “John Mahama and the NDC knows they have failed to create jobs, they have excluded Gadangbes from key public appointments, and have passed over them when the opportunity arise.”
Instead of focusing on this, they said Mahama has resorted to spreading falsehood and incited tribalistic propaganda in the “vain hope that they can get us to forget the lies and the deceit and instead hate Nana Addo.”
However, the Dangmes said they have had enough and are ready to fight for what belongs to them.
