The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has condemned the atrocities being meted out to the party’s parliamentary candidate for Asutifi South, Cecilia Amoah by the Local Government Minister, Alhaji Collins Dauda.
He has also condemned the intimidation tactics being deplored by Alhaji Dauda against residents of Dadiesoaba, explaining that such behavior has no place in Ghana’s growing democracy.
“You (Collins Dauda) are contesting a woman, and you’re having to employ guns, harmful weapons and the use of macho men in order to win? It is a shame and a disgrace. What kind of a man are you then? You are employing all of these shameful tactics, not against a fellow man, but, against a woman. This is a disgrace,” he said.
Akufo-Addo made this observation when addressing residents of Dadiesoaba in the Asutifi South Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Thursday, at the commencement of his four-day of the region.
The former Attorney-General speaking further was very optimistic that regardless of Collins Dauda’s “shameful” tactics, residents of Dadiesoaba and Asutifi South will vote out the NDC, in both presidential and parliamentary elections.
“We won’t allow them any further stay in office. Everyone who, by law, is allowed to vote will cast his or her ballot must do so without any fear. The voting will go on peacefully and the results, at the end of the day, the rightful winner will be determined. Macho men will not determine the outcome of results in Asutifi South,” he stressed.
Nana Akufo-Addo, thus, urged the electorate in Asutifi South to vote massively for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency, Cecilia Amoah, and also for him in the presidential election.
