Tension is high at the venue for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary at the Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region as party’s national executives are alleged scheming to get incumbent MP Joe Baidoo Ansah retained.
A text message purported to have been sent by the national campaign manager of the NPP, Peter Mac-Manu to some delegates specifically directed them to vote for the incumbent in order for the NPP to retain the seat and secure more votes for Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections.
We have just 2 months to election and NPP must win. There is no time to market a new person in Kwesimintsim. Let us vote for our MP and make sure he increases Nana Addo’s votes.
3news.com’s correspondent at Connect FM in Takoradi who is monitoring the elections, Paa Kojo Peter reports that delegates are divided over the text message.
While some delegates believe the message came from Peter Mac Manu, others suspect someone might have sent the message in the name of Mac Manu.
Calls to Mr. Mac Manu for verification were not answered.
