Liverpool are confident of signing Real Madrid superstar, James Rodriguez, if they qualify for the Champions League.
The Colombian’s future has been subject to intense speculation and now latest reports in the Mirror suggest that James could well leave Real Madrid in the summer.
The Merseyside giants are not the only ones interested in Rodriguez, but they appear to be leading the race with many reports in Spain even suggesting that contact with the player’s representatives have been made.
However, the same report also suggests that James will only move to a club playing in the Champions League. A source close to Real Madrid confirmed that James was looking for a move away from the Spanish giants:
“It seems Zidane is not satisfied with the player this season and has already asked for reinforcements in this position for next season. The player isn’t happy and it now appears a move in the summer is very feasible.”
After making a big money move to Real Madrid in 2014, James has struggled to live up to his potential and has not found regular playing time. Ever since Zidane has taken over, James has seen himself fall behind Isco and even Marco Asensio in the pecking order.
The Colombian is said to be frustrated at the lack of first-team opportunities and a move away from Spain might just rejuvenate the talented playmaker’s career.
