First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo has called on all to protect the earth and the environment in order to leave a better world for future inhabitants.
Mrs Akufo-Addo said this when Miss Earth 2016, Deborah Eyram Dodor, and other beauty queens from various countries across the globe paid a courtesy call on her.
Mrs Akufo-Addo commended Ms Dodor for spearheading a clean Ghana campaign dubbed: “Trash in Bin”, which is intended at encouraging the use of trash bins across Ghana.
She also assured Ms Dodor and her colleague Miss Earth queens of her absolute support for their initiative which she noted would help beautify the environment and make a meaningful contribution to sanitation in Ghana.
Ms Dodor, who led the group of queens to visit the First Lady, thanked her for her support and encouragement and promised to ensure a meaningful and successful campaign to help sanitise Ghana’s environment.
The queens concluded their visit with a tree planting activity at the First Lady’s office to symbolise their commitment and resolve at ensuring a successful campaign.
