Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to ensure that the country becomes an “even better” place in the next 60 years.
Ghana is celebrating its 60th independence anniversary today, Monday, 6 March, 2017.
In a tweet the former President said “I salute all Ghanaians. Let’s dedicate ourselves, on this occasion, to make the next 60 years even better.”

Ghana gained independence from Britain on this day in 1957.
The year-long celebration will be marked with a series of events. But today, as has been the tradition over the years, there will be a march past of schoolchildren, security services, and the unions at the Independence Square.
