President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has urged Ghanaians to forgive anybody who in one way or the other hurt them. This he said in his address during the NPP thanksgiving service which was held yesterday, Sunday December 18, at Accra Sports Stadium.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) organised a Praise and Thanksgiving Service, to express their gratitude to God for the historic victory they recorded in the general elections held December 7. The ceremony was themed: “We Will Rejoice in Thy Salvation, and in the Name of Our Lord We Will Set Our Banners” – from Psalm 20: 5.

Ministering and performing at the occasion were: Reverends Owusu-Bempah of the Glorious Word Ministry, Laryea Josh, and gospel artistes Diana Asamoah, Philipa Baafi, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Christina Love, respectively.
The NPP thanksgiving saw hundreds of party supporters present; all appearing in all-white attire. Also present at the occasion were: the Vice President-elect, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and wife, Samira; NPP’s acting Chairman, Freddy Blay; members of the presidential transition team led by Yaw Osafo Marfo, and other NPP stalwarts.
Addressing the audience, Nana Addo condemned reported post-election violence engaged in by NPP supporters different parts of the country. According to him, such behaviours are inappropriate and are not meant to be. He then called on all Ghanaians to forgive anyone who has hurt them and act with kindness, generosity and magnanimity.
I do recognize that there have been some instances of misconduct and altercation that should not have happened. Such behaviour is unbecoming of us, the President-elect said.
I call on all Ghanaians to act with kindness, generosity and magnanimity towards one another, and to forgive anybody who has wronged or hurt you, he appealed.
He also thanked all stakeholders, NPP supporters, and Ghanaians at large, whose hard work and commitments brought victory to the party. He however, urged all not to lose sight of the enormous task ahead of them, but to work hard in all angles, including earnest prayers and faith in God so as to enable them achieve their set goals.
