The executive committee of the Ghana Football Association has confirmed Kwesi Appiah as the coach of the Senior National Team, the Black Stars of Ghana.
He takes full charge of the team from May 1, 2017 and would be responsible for the local Black Stars as well.
This would be Kwesi Appiah’s second coming to manage the team which was left behind by Avram Grant whose contract ended earlier this year.
Appiah was the first Ghanaian to qualify the Black Stars to its third successive World Cup, a fete which looks tricky for the Stars this campaign season towards Russia 2018.
Top on his agenda would be to steer the Stars back to winning ways to qualify for Russia 2018 and AFCON 2019.
He was among a three man short list who were interviewed for the position. The other two were Frenchman Willy Sagnol and Cameroon coach Hugo Broos.
