Former Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, is among a pack of three coaches that have undergone an interview by the select committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take the role of the Ghana national team job.
African Cup of Nations winning coach with Cameroon, Hugo Broos, and former France international, Willy Sagnol, together with the former Black Stars left back are set to lead the pack in a bid head the national team.
A six-man search committee led by its GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, reportedly received over 132 applications after a 10-day period but had so far interviewed the three in a tensed interview at the Alisa Hotel.
Though the GFA has were tight lipped over the identities of these coaches after receiving the applications later last week, the spokesperson of the GFA, Alhaji Ibrahim Sanni Daara, revealed that all the three coaches have been duly interviewed.
He said, an assessment of the interview proceeding will be sent to the executive committee of the FA for acceptance or rejection of the candidates. He disclosed that committee used a combination of the head hunting and the standard application process to select the most suited coaches for the job.
While rubbishing an assertion by the general public to appoint Ghanaian coach, Alhaji Daara also indicated that, the committee would not be pressured in their attempt to find a qualified and competent coach that would transform the Black Stars and Ghana football.
