Communications expert, Kwaku Sakyi Addo is headed for the National Communications Authority to serve as chairman of the board.
This comes after he officially stepped down as the Executive Director of the Telecommunications Chamber.
A statement issued by the Telecoms Chamber on Sunday, April 09, 2017 confirmed Mr. Sakyi Addo’s move to the NCA.
Kwaku Sakyi-Addo reportedly receive the appointment of serve as NCA board chair from President Akufo-Addo not too long ago.
As the Telecoms Chamber boss, Sakyi Addo ensured a proper understanding of the telecoms industry in Ghana and set the Chamber apart as an effective advocate for telecom operators.
He said in his remarks, that “I am very proud of the work that the Chamber has done in aligning our members around key industry initiatives, driving important advocacy programs and building an enviable industry association. I’m grateful to the Governing Council, our entire membership and, of course, the Chamber staff for their support over the last six years.”
His new role will see him help steer the affairs of the National Communications Authority (NCA) to play a fair and effective role as a regulator of the communications industry.
The industry is one of the major focuses of the new government which seeks to among other things ensure effective local and international communication through public and private facilities.
Some major developments the government has served notice it would undertake to is revamp operations of Ghana Post to make it viable.
