Kumasi-based movie actors and actresses have attacked the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Johnson Aseidu Nketia over comments he made against them.
“Mr. Aseidu Nketiah does not know importance of sending a girl child to school hence, NDC condemnation of government’s free education policy”, spokesperson for Agya Koo, Mr. Atta Aboakye told the media.
A team from Kumawood on the Independence Day staged play at the on the importance of the education of the girl child.
But the chief scribe of the opposition party, Mr. Aseidu Nketia described the “educative and hilarious” performance as “unnecessary, and waste of time”.
According to him, most of the foreign dignitaries present did not speak and understand the medium of communication used by these actors.
Responding to what appears to be an attack on local movie production, the spokesperson bemoaned the “political stance” always taken by Mr. Aseidu Nketia against some personalities in the movie industry.
He stated that their work is to amuse, educate and inform the public on issues that will benefit the people of this county.
