The popular movie group based out of Kumasi known as Kumawood have released a new movie titled “Guantanamofor Wo Guantanamofoc Wo Kromu”. This is translated “The people of Guantanamo are in town”. This movie was released amidst gross controversy as Ghana accepts the 2 two detainees. The movie describes the supposed effect that accepting the detainees will have on the country. It stars the popular controversial actress Ghanaian actress Rose Mensah, popularly known as Kyeiwaa. In classic Kumawood style if comes with a lot of special effects and is entirely in Twi.
The detainees, Muhammad Bin Atef and Khalid Muhammad Salih Al-Dhuby are Yemeni and both have been held since 2002. Atef and Al-Dhuby are both suspected of participating in hostilities against U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan. Their attorneys have however denied the accusations.
