The 18th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA’s), which came off on Saturday, saw glitz and glamour on the night as patrons were served with indigenous and contemporary music at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Last year’s best new artiste and songwriter, Kofi Kinaata, and gospel singer, Joe Mettle, who eventually was crowned VGMA 2017 Artiste of the Year each took home three awards.
This year’s VGMA also enjoyed some wonderful glimpses of the past and present as veteran singer, Amanzeba, reminded showbiz fans some Ghanaian celebrities who lost their lives in 2016
An overwhelming performance enjoyed by thousands of fans also saw Ga music group Wolumei, treat music lovers to their hit song dubbed “Maafio.”
After Wulomei’s captivating performance came veteran musician, Charles Amoah, with his magnificent stagecraft as he danced his heart out which saw celebs and patrons rise to their feet and danced to his hit banger “Eye Odo Asem” literally mean ‘It’s a love affair.’
Earlier, Paa Yankson was given Life Time Achievement award on the night.
He subsequently dedicated the award to his friend [CK Mann] whom he said introduced him to music.

Best collaboration of the year – VVIP
Best Male vocalist of the year – Joe Mettle
Best Group Of the year –VVIP
Best music video of the year – Okyeame Kwame
Best Rapper of the year – M.anifest
