Kofi Adjorlolo debunks reports that he campaigned for the NDC; says he never delved into politics prior to the election.
Veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo has dismissed reports suggesting he campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December general elections. According to reports, the veteran actor had been included in the long list of celebrity supporters of the NDC prior to the general elections.
It can be recalled that the 59-year-old was part of a delegation of actors who were at the presidency to commiserate with President John Mahama after he lost his mother, earlier this year.
Speculations that he was an NDC loyalist grew when photos of him from the visit went viral. The actor has however, come out to deny such claims.
Speaking to Joy News, Kofi Adjorlolo debunks the reports saying he never supported the outgoing party. According to him, he is not politically inclined and did not delve into politics during the pre-election period. The actor explained that the visit to Mahama’s residence to commiserate with him, was a group thing and was never planned with the motive of campaigning for him.
Kofi Adjorlolo’s comments come on the back of alleged attacks carried out on some celebrities who rallied behind the outgoing President in the just ended elections. Reacting to the attacks, Mr. Adjorlolo prayed for peace and called on Ghanaians to stand for peace and unity in the post election period.
The celebrated actor got nominated in the Best Supporting role category of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), for his role in the movie ‘Ghana Must Go’.
Kofi Adjorlolo who has been trough two failed marriages popped up in the news months ago, following reports of his engagement with actress Victoria Mekpa. Victoria is about forty years his junior (she’s in her late twenties). When asked about the date of his anticipated wedding to the young actress, the actor said plans are in progress.
