The King maker of Damango in West Gonja district in the Northern region Alhaji Abass Dangba has been attacked with fire wood by some people suspected to be a members of over lord of Gonja land traditional area, Yagbon Wura Tutumba Borasa I.
This attack on Alhaji Abass Dangba comes after a candidate chosen and installed as king for Damongo by the traditional kingmakers was rejected and a different royal installed by the Yagbonwura, Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom, Adom News has gathered.
According to him, he was on motor bike and a members of the King (Yagbon Wura) push him on fire wood and started beating him with fire wood.
“I was on motor bike and they push me on some fire wood and they started beating my head with stick drying stick” he said.
Alhaji Abass added that, the Police Commander for the area, ASP Seidu Wemah refuse to take his statement when he goes there to report the case.
“After they attack me and I went to the police station to report, I go there and those who were attack me were with the police commander and he told me to wait and I wait more than 3 hours so I later went back home ” he added.
Alhaji Abass has appealed to government for protection but said for the moment they will defend themselves with “sticks, cudgels and cutlasses”.
Meanwhile, effort to reach the district Police Commander ASP Seidu Wemah to confirm the matter proved futile.
