Supreme Court Judge, Justice William Atuguba is the acting Chief Justice in the absence of Justice Georgina Theodora Woode.
Justice Atuguba has taken over the duties of Justice Georgina Theodora Woode after she took her leave prior to her retirement.
Professor Mike Oquaye, the Speaker of Parliament made this known Tuesday morning while he introduced dignitaries in Parliament ahead of President Akufo-Addo’s maiden State of the Nation Address.
Prof Oquaye in his introduction referred to Justice Atuguba as the acting Chief Justice.
This is the second time Justice Atuguba is acting as the Chief Justice.
On May 25, 2016, he acted as the Chief Justice until June 3, 2016, while Justice Georgina Theodora Woode was outside the country on official assignment.
Mr. Atuguba also chaired the panel that sat on Ghana’s 2012 election petition.
