NORTHERN Volta Journalists Association (NVJA) have unanimously endorsed Mr. Maxwell Quophy Blagodzi’s nomination as Volta regional minister.
A statement signed yesterday by the leaders of NVJA including Obrempong Ba K. Owusu, Kingsley Mamori, Christiana Ativi, Raymond Azah Gidi and Akonton Jacob and copied to Today in Accra noted that, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo’s selection of the former Volta Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in the right direction.
Consequently, the journalists in the statement congratulated Mr. Blagodzi on his splendid thrills performance on, and before, the vetting committee.
According to the statement, the northern journalists were not surprised with the splendid performances because “you showed class when you appeared before the committee”.
The statement also thanked Mr. Akufo Addo for seeing the greatness in Mr. Blagodzi to fill and serve under his government as a deputy minister.
“We are with the optimistic that the loyalty and cordial relations between President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Volta deputy minister designate, Mr Maxwell Quophy Blagodzi, will accelerate and bring development into the region especially with the one district, one factory pledge”, te statement said.
The association in the statement called on Mr. Blagodzi to revisit and arrest the fallen standard of education in the northern Volta.
The statement reminded Mr. Blagodzi to involve journalists in all activities for transparency and accountability.
